Christian's week long celebration!

Christian's birthday seems like it will never end. An Eller family party on Sunday started it off then, a little party at home the night of his birthday, a slumber party with some of his buddies a few days later and then a Gold Sox Game on Saturday. It has been busy but so fun!

Christian blowing out the candle at Grandma's house. Aunt Kerri made the brownies, they looked like little barbeques. So cute and yummy!

At the Slumber party the kids played some minute to win it games under the direction of Aaron. I was at a girls night out and Aaron agreed to do the party! The boys loved it! When I walked in I kind of ruined the party a bit... an all boys party is way different than when mom is there. There was some clean up time after I came home.

Calvin, Christian, Chase, Ivan and Jacob showing off the presents Christian got.

They all camped the whole night outside in a tent. They were up pretty late, but no complaints from the neighbors. They had breakfast together outside too.

christian eating a baseball cookie that Aunt kerri made for the party! The boys loved them!

Christian and Calvin at the Gold Sox Game on Saturday. They both got foul balls and then tried to get one for Calvin's brother, Adon.

Aaron and I at the game! It was like a date because the kids were so busy waiting for the foul balls, they didn't spend any time in the stands.

Aaron caught a hotdog! Pretty impressive catch too!

Christian got his ball signed by, I have no idea what her name is??

All the boys ended up with a ball! Meliah went away crying because she really wanted one too and the boys told her, "Boys first". But it's too good to be true if everything goes perfectly, right?

Thanks Michelle, the boys had a blast! Adon was needing that, and getting a ball was icing on the cake! (I feel bad about Meliah) You guys are awesome!

My parenting plan!!

I have been thinking a lot lately of what I need to teach my kids to help them become independant physically, spiritually and mentally so when they turn 18 they will be able to survive on their own. The last 9 years has flown by so quickly I can't believe it. Nine more years and my first child will be old enough to be on his own. That is a real wake up call for a mother who hasn't prepared her children for those important days. I realize that I have gone on way to long without a list of what needs to be learned and done by what age so that my kids will not be horrified when they get out into the world alone. So, I've come up with a list of most everything I can think of that would be important for my kids to know and learn and what ages they should be capable. Of course, every child is different and is capable of different things at different ages. Some learn things faster and are more motivated. Others would like to just live in the home cave for the rest of their lives and have no motivation to do any of it. So, I am including my fairly flexible plan. But if you let too many years slip by, you may need to up the work to fit everything in. I got most of my ideas from a very experienced LDS author (Merilee Boyack) who has raised several children successfully! So, hopefully you find this as helpful as I do!
