Cabo was Incredible!

The plane ride and 1st day in Mexico! We were so excited!





We left on January 10th for Cabo San Lucas Mexico and were so grateful to leave the cold below "0" temperature and arrive in Mexico later that same afternoon to beautiful blues skies and swimsuit weather. Grandma Eller stayed with the kids at home and took very good care of them. We were able to see the kids twice with the video phone while we were there. It was awesome! It really helped us not miss them as much.

So I thought I'd share all the pictures we took while we were there. I took most of the pictures so there may not be many of me.

Way behind!

The kids decorated the tree all by themselves this year! They did a fabulous job and I was really happy to not have to do it.

Meliah played a sleeping Santa for her play at school this year! She did a lot of loud snoring but that was about it.

Lizzy did a great job on her performance at the school. She loved the pom poms and the tune to the song. "2, 4, 6, 8... who do we appreciate, Santa, Santa, Santa Claus!"

The kids are starting to grow out of the Santa Claus stage which has been sad but also extremely nice. We have focused more on our Savior, Jesus Christ, and serving others than any other year.

The whole family with Santa Claus! Oh how I love my family!

I just have to post something become I am so far behind. I'm not sure I will ever catch up but at least I am posting something.

Thanksgiving!

We were able to spend time with almost all of the family on Thanksgiving this year! It was wonderful to see everyone!

My parenting plan!!

I have been thinking a lot lately of what I need to teach my kids to help them become independant physically, spiritually and mentally so when they turn 18 they will be able to survive on their own. The last 9 years has flown by so quickly I can't believe it. Nine more years and my first child will be old enough to be on his own. That is a real wake up call for a mother who hasn't prepared her children for those important days. I realize that I have gone on way to long without a list of what needs to be learned and done by what age so that my kids will not be horrified when they get out into the world alone. So, I've come up with a list of most everything I can think of that would be important for my kids to know and learn and what ages they should be capable. Of course, every child is different and is capable of different things at different ages. Some learn things faster and are more motivated. Others would like to just live in the home cave for the rest of their lives and have no motivation to do any of it. So, I am including my fairly flexible plan. But if you let too many years slip by, you may need to up the work to fit everything in. I got most of my ideas from a very experienced LDS author (Merilee Boyack) who has raised several children successfully! So, hopefully you find this as helpful as I do!
