My girls are so funny!




Both of my girls love being in front of the camera. They are constantly smiling and asking us to take pictures of them. They both have such sweet personalities that we enjoy! Meliah has taught Elizabeth so many cute things. If I am in the other room and hear them talking, I can't tell the difference between their voices. Elizabeth sounds just like her big sister! Elizabeth said, "That is not appropriate" in the car on the way home from church today. It sounded just like her sis! This picture is of them with their cousin, Grace.

The boys on their Mountain Man experience!

He would throw and stick his axe in a tree stump. You have to throw it just right!

The boys loved throwing axes, making fires and learning how to live like the mountain men did. I love how into it these guys get! Christian loves spending time with his best friends, his cousins!

Mom and Dad were married 50 years ago!




It's amazing it has been 50 years! I am so grateful for my parents and their great example to me! I love you mom and dad!

It has been an extremely busy summer so far. I was able to go to girls camp for a week which turned out to be a great break for me. My wonderful parents took care of them while Aaron was at work every day. I also was able to go to my niece, Cortney's wedding in the St. George temple. She married a local boy from around here, so we are sure we'll be seeing a lot of them. It was beautiful and so great to see Jon and Laurie and all the kids that I hadn't seen in soo long. It was also really nice to spend some alone time with my mom and dad in the car. If any of you have made that trip to St. George you know how many hours you are in the car. I haven't spent that kind of time with my parents ever (I think I may be their favorite - ha ha)! It was really nice! This summer we will be celebrating my mom and dad's 50th Wedding anniversary and having a family reunion. We all look forward to it. My mom and dad are amazing people who have really dedicated their lives to helping their children and all of their posterity to be better! Their only request from all their children was that we would all be in the temple with them on that day! We are all hoping and praying that we all can! We miss all of you that live so far away! I don't have many pictures of you, send some please! We love you!

My parenting plan!!

I have been thinking a lot lately of what I need to teach my kids to help them become independant physically, spiritually and mentally so when they turn 18 they will be able to survive on their own. The last 9 years has flown by so quickly I can't believe it. Nine more years and my first child will be old enough to be on his own. That is a real wake up call for a mother who hasn't prepared her children for those important days. I realize that I have gone on way to long without a list of what needs to be learned and done by what age so that my kids will not be horrified when they get out into the world alone. So, I've come up with a list of most everything I can think of that would be important for my kids to know and learn and what ages they should be capable. Of course, every child is different and is capable of different things at different ages. Some learn things faster and are more motivated. Others would like to just live in the home cave for the rest of their lives and have no motivation to do any of it. So, I am including my fairly flexible plan. But if you let too many years slip by, you may need to up the work to fit everything in. I got most of my ideas from a very experienced LDS author (Merilee Boyack) who has raised several children successfully! So, hopefully you find this as helpful as I do!
